  • Another jury holds Big Tobacco accountable Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Bloomberg BusinessWeek:  A Florida jury awarded more than $46 million the widow of a man who died of lung cancer from smoking.  The verdict against R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. was actually $90.8 million but was reduced because Frank Townsend was held 49 percent responsible for his illness and death.  Bob Van Voris reports Florida juries have returned five verdicts against tobacco companies in similar cases in just the past two months.
