BP: look at the good things the gulf oil catastrophe has brought!
Tuesday, June 22, 2010
Thanks to The Source, the Wall Street Journal’s London-based blog for European business and financial news, for uncovering a report in BP’s online in-house magazine, Planet BP, that looks on the bright side of the Gulf oil catastrophe with the help of a “BP reporter” sent to Louisiana…
The April 20 spill on the Deepwater Horizon is being reinvented in Planet BP as a strike of luck. [note: that's how the Brits say it...]
“Much of the region’s [nonfishing boat] businesses — particularly the hotels — have been prospering because so many people have come here from BP and other oil emergency response teams,” another report says. Indeed, one tourist official in a local town makes it clear that “BP has always been a very great partner of ours here…We have always valued the business that BP sent us.”
As Eric Idle would say (and indeed did say), “When you’re chewing on life’s gristle, don’t grumble–give a whistle! And this’ll help things turn out for the best. Always look on the bright side of life!”
