Federal government, Boeing face suit after fatal Marine jet crash
Friday, July 30, 2010
San Diego Union-Tribune: A man whose wife, two daughters and mother-in-law were killed when a Marine jet crashed into their house has filed a federal suit against the U.S. and Boeing. “The complaint argues that the government violated many of its own policies and procedures for maintaining and operating the aircraft and responding to a flight emergency,” writes Gretel C. Kovach. “It also alleges that the Boeing jet ‘had a history of warnings and system failures’ known to the government and the manufacturer, including defects in the fuel systems.”
