Glaxo pays $1 billion to settle Paxil suicides, birth defects

Bloomberg: According to a Bloomberg report, drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline has paid almost $1 billion to resolve lawsuits involving its antidepressant drug Paxil. Almost $400 million of that has been paid in about 450 cases where suicides or attempted suicides were linked to the drug. There have also been more than 600 claims that Paxil caused birth defects.
