KBR/Halliburton still says rape is for arbitration, not court
Friday, January 29, 2010
Slate: Dahlia Lithwick has details on KBR/Halliburton‘s attempt to get the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that a case involving the alleged rape of a clerical worker can go to court instead of forced arbitration, with an arbitrator paid by Halliburton and no right of appeal. Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.): “You know where a great place to try arguments is? In court. But they’ve spent five years fighting against her attempts to have her day there. It seems odd that they wouldn’t want to explain their side in the courtroom, since they’re willing to in the media.”
