Oil rig workers say company pressured them to sign statements after explosion
Tuesday, May 11, 2010
PBS News Hour: A worker who was on the oil rig that exploded last month says company officials “pressured him to sign documents that may keep him from receiving medical care and reimbursement for what happened that night,” according to this joint report by PBS and National Public Radio. Christopher Choy said, “That’s one of the things they preach to us the entire time you work there and do any kind of training is, be responsible. That’s part of their core values, is responsibility. And then the first thing they threw at me when I get to the hotel… is a paper relieving them of their responsibility.” The complete report is embedded below.
