The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a Utah company has recalled almost two tons of meat and poultry products “because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection.” The products being recalled are canned freeze-dried meats produced on October 12, October 19 and October 21 by Thrive Foods, a company that bills itself as “your premier source for emergency preparedness supplies.” The announcement from FSIS said there have been no reports of illness caused by consumption of the products.
