What do you call a doctor who tried to cover up removing the wrong lung? Employed
Tuesday, February 2, 2010
Jersey Journal: Amy Sara Clark reports, “The doctor who removed the wrong lung from a patient — and then tried to cover it up — is practicing surgery again at Hoboken [N.J.] University Medical Center.” The medical license of Dr. Santusht Perera was reinstated after a six-month suspension and an $80,000 fine. Richard Flagg died in 2003, three years after Perera removed most of his right lung instead of his cancerous left lung. Perera then told Flagg there had been an even bigger tumor on the right lung, which was not true.
