With lawsuits against Toyota coming as fast as, well, Prius brake failures, a key question is what court ultimately will get jurisdiction – and oversee what looks to be a massive distribution of legal fees.

The Daily Journal reports today that Los Angeles is in the running, along with New Orleans, and Kentucky (the story is behind a paywall, so you’ll have to take our word for it).

The story says L.A.’s advantage is that it’s near Toyota’s North American headquarters in Torrance. But Toyota’s main U.S. factory is in Kentucky. And New Orleans’ selling point? It has a relatively light docket – and is home to plaintiff’s attorney Daniel E. Becnel Jr., who has extensive experience in multi-district litigation, and has asked that the cases be consolidated there.

Someone really should get an office pool going on this one.
